Fall fruits and veggies

Eating fresh fruits and vegetables can tend to be on the more expensive side and that is why some people turn to the cheaper options, such as canned, that are more cost efficient however not the best for healthy eating. One way to save some money and still eat fresh foods is by choosing things that are in season at the time you are shopping.

Here is a list of foods that you can find in your produce section that are in season for fall time.

Vegetables:

  1. Acorn Squash
  2. Butternut Squash
  3. Broccoli
  4. Brussels Sprouts
  5. Cauliflower
  6. Mushrooms
  7. Sweet potato

Fruits:

  1. Asian Pear
  2. Cactus Pear
  3. Cranberries
  4. Date plum
  5. Grapes
  6. Pineapple
  7. Pomegranate

Try to get creative this month and make new recipes that call for these fruits and vegetables. Try out a new food each day this month and you will be shocked on how much easier it is to eat healthier when you have a variety of foods!
