The Gastric Balloon System is the FIRST and ONLY swallowable, FDA-approved balloon system for weight loss. This non-surgical procedure consists of three balloons, placed over a period of three months. The balloons take up space in the stomach, making weight loss easier. The treatment, including the Gastric Balloon System combined with medically supervised nutrition and exercise programs continues for six months.

Is The Gastric Balloon Right For You?
The Gastric Balloon System is designed specifically to help jump-start and facilitate weight loss. If you have failed to lose weight with diet and exercise alone, the Gastric Balloon System could be right for you.
The Gastric Balloon System is designed for patients aged 22 or older, with a BMI in the 30-40 range, and is designed to be partnered with proper nutrition and moderate intensity exercise.
The Gastric Balloon System is a temporary treatment, lasting no longer than 6 months. With proper diet and exercise, weight loss should continue or be maintained after removal of the balloons. 89% of people who used the Gastric Balloon System maintained their weight loss 6 months after removal when combined with diet and exercise.
What To Expect?
The Gastric Balloon System is a 6 month treatment plan. The first balloon is swallowed in your doctor’s office, and the doctor inflates the balloon after it is swallowed. The second balloon is placed the same way one month later. And the third, in the third month. The balloons are left in a total of 6 months, starting with the first balloon.
The placement of each balloon takes approximately 10 minutes and most patients return to normal activities with no down time.
At the end of the 6-month treatment period, all three balloons are removed by a brief, approximately 15 minute, outpatient endoscopic procedure which is performed under light, conscious sedation.
During the treatment period, patients will work alongside their doctors to develop healthy nutrition habits. As you become aware that you are eating less, it is important to adopt a healthy lifestyle by making healthy food choices and making exercise a priority.
