HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

At Ultimate Bariatrics we are aware that paying for surgery is a concern for many of our patients. We have several options available for our patients whether using insurance or self- financing.

Insurance

Obtaining insurance coverage for weight loss surgery can be very confusing. Our specially trained insurance coordinators are here to assist you in understanding your bariatric coverage. When you call to make your first appointment, we will begin the verification process. Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email briefly outlining your insurance coverage and guidelines for bariatric surgery. Our coordinator will meet with you at your first visit to further explain your benefits and your insurance company’s requirements for approval of your weight loss procedure. Once these requirements have been fulfilled, your surgery request will be submitted for approval. The process for insurance approval for weight loss surgery typically takes 30-60 days once submitted. You may always check the status of your submission by calling the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card. If approved, the insurance coordinator will notify our scheduler that you are ready to move forward to surgery. For more information please contact our office at 844-ULT-LOSE.

Financing

Some patients do not use insurance coverage for weight loss surgery. This could be because of an exclusion for bariatrics written into your insurance policy, an insurance denial, or a desire to forgo the time-consuming insurance approval process. For these patients, Ultimate Bariatrics has a patient advocate on staff who will assist you with appointment and surgery scheduling and provide you with financing options. The patient advocate will not secure funds for your surgery, but can provide you with a list of possible medical loan companies if needed. At your first appointment, our patient advocate will meet with you to answer any questions you have about the process and provide information on payment for your procedure.
